Nickelback Engage in Twitter War with Atlanta Braves Pitcher
Nickelback and the world of sports just don't seem to be getting along lately. Atlanta Braves relief pitcher Peter Moylan began a Twitter war with the band, who retaliated with some tough words of their own.
Moylan may have just added baseball to the "Sports vs. Nickelback" feud of 2011. The band has already battled with football fans - having faced an online petition to remove Nickelback from the NFL's Packers vs. Lions Thanksgiving Halftime Show, which gained over 55,000 signatures.
Moylan cast the first stone after seeing Foo Fighters live in Melbourne, Australia. Impressed by Foos frontman Dave Grohl, Moylan tweeted -- "Note to @nickelback please attend a @foofighters concert. That's how's it should be done Chad."
Nickelback went for the throat with their reply to the Moylan, referencing fellow Braves relief pitcher and 2011 National League Rookie of the Year, Craig Kimbrel -- "@PeterMoylan Foos are killer for sure. We're doing just fine, too, thanks. ? for you Pete, is watching Kimbrel better from the bench or on TV? ... p.s. happy birthday…" Ouch!
The gentlemen in Nickelback quickly put out the fire the next day with another Tweet to Moylan -- "There is no beef w/ @PeterMoylan. We both took shots. We didn't take it seriously. To each their own. No harm meant, all the best to him."
Moylan has seemingly accepted Nickelback's truce -- "@Nickelback nothing like lighting a fire in the Twitter world! Where would we be without s--t talking?"
When it comes to dealing with haters, Nickelback have proven that they can absolutely handle themselves with quiet resilience, as evidenced by this Funny or Die clip, but we're still waiting patiently for the band to find and take out these guys.
