On Tuesday night (Sept. 11) the death metal Floridians of Obituary were the cause of some massive pits along with Broken Hope and Decrepit Birth at Gramercy Theater in New York City for the Carnival of Death Tour 2012.

There was a lot of hair onstage going as Obituary members did some serious head banging while bodies were moving on the floor creating some serious mosh pits. They performed heavy hitting tracks such as ‘Slowly We Rot,’ ‘Dead Silence, Gates to Hell’ and numerous others.

New York gave the Chicago based band Broken Hope a very warm welcome. They brought a lot of energy to the stage and a lot of guttural growls with their 45 minute set which included tunes like ‘Swamped In Gore,’ ‘Into the Necrosphere’ and ‘The Dead Half,’ just to name a few.

Decrepit Birth gave a vigorous performance, as did Jungle Rot. Openers of the night included Encrust and Open Denile.
