Obituary vs. The Acacia Strain – Death Match

Obituary are halfway to our Death Match Hall of Fame. In a close battle between leading old school and new school extreme metal bands, the veterans of Obituary claimed victory over Misery Index. Only two wins separate Obituary from the Hall, but they must defeat another prominent group of young and extreme heavyweights.

The Acacia Strain recently debuted the new track 'Cauterizer' to give fans a piece of their upcoming seventh studio album, 'Coma Witch.' The song is deathcore at its center, but also takes the groove and slam influence of classic death metal.

Two bands fight to the death each week. Fans can vote once per hour. The triumphant band goes on to complete in the next Death Match. If a band wins four straight Death Matches, its song will be honored as immortal in the Loudwire Death Match Hall of Fame.
