Arkansas doom metal masters Pallbearer have just released a freaky clip for “I Saw the End,” the opening track from their third studio album, Heartless.

“I Saw the End” is riff after riff of metal greatness, so if you need more titanic leads in your life, this track is for you. Moving the perfect stoner doom pace, “I Saw the End” is one of the most accessible songs Pallbearer have ever unleashed, yet it doesn’t strip back on the quality songwriting Pallbearer have become known for in the metal underground.

The video explores both ancient and modern times. A hooded figure uses his powers to give vision to druid humans and orders them build a pyramid. Thousands of years later, a story of corporate controversy is told, where a company is under fire for an oil drilling program called Operation Orion.

"Both song and video present a telescopic view on an eternity of corruption,” says Pallbearer. “The path of greed leads to misery. When higher awareness allowed us to claw our way out of the mud, we found new ways to exploit one another, abusing the gift that could bring us to new heights. In the end, we pay for our selfishness. Join us for this elegy for what might have been."
