Queens of the Stone Age Reimagine ‘The Way You Used to Do’
When Queens of the Stone Age's "The Way You Used to Do" debuted back in June of 2017, it was a catchy, upbeat song, with singer Josh Homme even showing off his nifty dance moves in the video for the song. But with 129 performances since the start of the Villains tour, the track has evolved into something different.
During a recent performance at the Museum of New and Old Art in Hobart, Tasmania, the band toyed with the arrangement significantly, providing a really dark and haunting rendition of the normally upbeat track. The band played a slowed down, stripped-down acoustic version as part of a benefit for the Royal Hobart Hospital Pediatrics Ward. Watch the performance in the video above.
Queens of the Stone Age recently wrapped their touring in support of Villains, playing to more than 1.7 million people during the run. The benefit show at MONA yielded $10,000 which Homme then matched through his own Sweet Stuff Foundation, making a $20,000 donation for the Royal Hobart Hospital Pediatrics Ward. The band visited the hospital the following day to present the donation and provide gifts to patients.
