Prog metal legends Queensryche are on the verge of releasing their third album with singer Todd La Torre. The band released the first song, "Man the Machine," last year, which was a hard-charging, classic sounding track. On "Dark Reverie," the newest single, they explore something a little more sinister.

Since La Torre's arrival, Queensryche have stuck to the classic sound of their first four records with nods to the darker elements charted on 1994's Promised Land. "Dark Reverie" delivers on these moodier elements with a ballad-like arrangement that can't shake the ever-present feeling of dread with orchestral passages to fuel the atmosphere.

"I'm extremely proud of what we were able to accomplish on this record," said La Torre. "The relentless dedication and hard work of everyone involved has been very rewarding. I am excited and looking forward to it no longer just belonging to us, but belonging to the world. We hope you all enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it!"

Guitarist Michael Wilton added, "The Verdict is the most metal and the most progressive record we have made in a long time. I couldn't possibly be more excited for everyone to hear this."

The Verdict comes out on March 1. Pre-order your copy here and catch Queensryche on tour with Fates Warning at the cities listed below.
