Seether promised they'd be returning to the heavier sound featured on their earliest albums and the new Poison the Parish track "Stoke the Fire" finds the band making good on their word!

The mood is set with swirling volume swells that give way to a driving riff as droning leads pan from right to left. Bringing the energy to a simmer, the verse begins subdued with rolling momentum into an explosive chorus. About two-thirds of the way through, the song reaches an aggressive climax with a low-slung, beefy rhythm providing the foundation for Shaun Morgan's enraged screams.

“I think [this album] is probably something heavier than we’ve done in a while," Morgan told Loudwire Nights host Toni Gonzalez. “There’s more of a return to the sound we had on the first few albums and I know that people wanted that.”

Poison the Parish, which was recorded at Blackbird Studios in Nashville, Tenn., will be out on May 12, serving as the first release on Morgan's new label imprint, Canine Riot Records. The album can be pre-ordered at iTunes with instant gratification downloads on "Stoke the Fire" and the previously released cut "Let You Down.'

Seether have a massive tour booked out stretching from April 29 through Aug. 20 and they've added Sevendust's Clint Lowery to their live lineup.
