Organizers for the Sunset Strip Music Festival have announced venues and set times for the Aug. 18 street festival. Among the 70 plus performers will be rock acts Marilyn Manson, the Offspring, Bad Religion, Black Label Society and Dead Sara. Artists from many other genres will also be at SSMF 2012, such as De La Soul, Matt Skiba, Street Drum Corps and Steve Aoki.

The world famous Sunset Strip will closed to traffic from West Hollywood’s San Vicente to Doheny Boulevards.  In addition, the street festival this year will also feature the Monster Energy east side stage, beer garden, food trucks, art guitar installations and interactive experiences.

“This year’s street festival features exciting experiences that will engage our attendees throughout the day. In addition to an amazing lineup of artists, they will be able to enjoy some of L.A.’s best food trucks, outdoor beer gardens and lounges, art installations and exciting activations that all celebrate the vibrancy of this eclectic boulevard,” said SSMF managing director Karmen Beck.

In addition to the outdoor stages, bands will play in other venues throughout the strip during the festival, including The Roxy, Key Club and Whisky A Go-Go. Those venues will also have performances on Thursday, Aug. 16 and Friday, Aug. 17 from Hank III, RZA and others.

When you think of the Sunset Strip, you think of hair metal.  Thursday, Aug. 17 bands from that era such as Great White, Faster Pussycat, Bulletboys and Pretty Boy Floyd will be playing at the Whisky.

SSMF 2012 will also celebrate the music and legacy of The Doors throughout the festival. Ray Manzarek from the Doors will be performing with X at the Roxy on Aug. 17.

Here are the set times for Saturday, Aug. 18. A complete schedule for the entire event can be found at the festival's official web site.
