Beware, stray limbs may be flying ahead! That's because Texas in July are unleashing their new song 'Sweetest Poison' exclusively here at Loudwire. The heavy song is a turning point in the band's career and you can hear it in the player below.

The band underwent a major change in their career since the last album as frontman Alex Good and guitarist Christian Royer stepped away from the group. The remaining members decided to forge on, recruiting JT Cavey as their new vocalist and recently adding guitarist Cameron Welch to fill out the lineup.

As expected, Texas in July have evolved in their sound. Guitarist Ben Witkowski tells Loudwire, "The song 'Sweetest Poison' is one of the most interesting songs TIJ has ever written. It's filled with a variety of parts, amongst other sounds we have never experimented with before! Excited to hear the feedback."

He's not kidding, as the band smacks you right out of the gate with some brutal drumming from Adam Gray and frenetic guitar work from Chris Davis, but the group also shows some range with a mix of heaviness and melody.

'Sweetest Poison' is featured on the band's 'Bloodwork' album, which is due Sept. 16 via Equal Vision Records. You can pre-order the album at this location. And look for Texas in July returning to the road in September. Dates can be found here.
