There's some good news and some bad news for The Word Alive fans. The good news is that the group has a new song called "Overdose" to share with their faithful followers ahead of their upcoming tour. The bad news is that the next tour will be the last for the band's drummer Luke Holland, who will be exiting at the conclusion of the run.

The band revealed in a new posting that Holland will leave the band after five years, pursuing other musical endeavors and passions outside of The Word Alive. However, the split is definitely an amicable one as the group stated in multiple responses to fan questions on their statement, "We have no plans of slowing down. We love Luke, he's our brother and always will be. Couldn't be on better terms parting ways" and "TWA is a family, including all past and present members. It's never been about one guy, we support each other in life before business." The group has yet to reveal who will fill the drummer position after Holland's exit. Read their statement below:

Dearest TWA friends and fans,

We’re writing you this afternoon with some bitter sweet news. After almost 5 years of being a part of the TWA family, Luke Holland will be saying goodbye at the end of this year. The Overdose Tour will be his final tour. We’ve been through so much together, and that is a bond that will last a life time. However, it’s time for Luke to explore other musical endeavors and pursue passions outside of The Word Alive.

We wish him nothing but the best, and sincerely support him in his future just as he supports us in ours. We decided to let you know before the tour so you could have the opportunity to celebrate this chapter coming to an end with us, instead of being blind-sided at the start of the new year.

We’re continuing on, finishing the Dark Matter album cycle with some incredible tours all over the world in 2017. The Overdose Tour will feature our longest headlining set to date including songs we’ve never played live before, as well as some songs we haven’t played in years. Make sure you grab your general admission tickets at wearethewordalive.com and if your heart desires, VIP tickets at TWA.soundrink.com

We look forward to sharing our music with you for years to come.

See you soon,

Telle, Tony, Zack, Daniel & Luke

But while Holland is exiting the band, the group does have a new song to share. As stated, you can hear the track "Overdose" in the player above. The distortion-filled rocker is a mix of heavier and melodic moments with vocalist Telle Smith singing about losing touch with reality and not being completely sure of his current state. If you like what you hear, you can pick up the track via iTunes.

"Overdose" is also the name given to the band's upcoming tour. The trek launches Nov. 16 in Colorado Springs, Colo., and wraps Dec. 11 in Birmingham, Ala. For dates and details on each stop, click here.
