Chris Cornell must've passed his musical genes onto his children. The late singer's youngest daughter, Toni Cornell, just released her very first original song "Far Away Places." It was produced by her father just months before his untimely passing.

The 15-year-old first made her live musical debut onstage with her father in New York during his Higher Truth tour, where they played Bob Marley's "Redemption Song" together. It was apparent Toni had her father's pipes ever since.

In late summer 2017, the young singer made an appearance on Good Morning America with OneRepublic for a performance of "Hallelujah," in honor of her father and Linkin Park's Chester Bennington, who had also just recently passed away. In addition, the Cornells released a father-daughter cover of Prince's "Nothing Compares 2 U" for Father's Day in 2018.

"Far Away Places" was written by Toni when she was just 12. It's one of the last songs Cornell worked on before his passing in May 2017. Proceeds from the song will go to the New York Society For the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.

If you enjoyed Cornell's work on his mostly-acoustic solo album Higher Truth, you'll find this song to your liking as well. It's evident Toni has her dad's introspective songwriting abilities, as well as a beautiful voice to back it.
