Musician Gives Vanessa Carlton’s ‘A Thousand Miles’ a Deathcore Makeover
Vanessa Carlton's "A Thousand Miles" just got a deathcore makeover. Watch this rocker give the song a whole new sound during karaoke.
Whether it's a metal grandma singing "Dragula" by Rob Zombie or a man singing "Closer" by Nine Inch Nails to the tune of the Ghostbusters theme, you never know what you'll hear during karaoke night. This cover by musician Tom The Hateful wasn't anything we were expecting to hear. He's the frontman for a grindcore/death metal band, Dross, according to Louder Sound.
The singer decided to pick the popular early 2000s song "A Thousand Miles" by Vanessa Carlton for his karaoke choice. But given his musical background, his take sounds nothing like the original and the only thing we wish we could change is how long the video is. The crowd seems intrigued as they laugh and cheer him on while he screams along and acts like he's playing the piano.
While Vanessa Carlton's music video for "A Thousand Miles" has over 313 million views on YouTube, this TikTok is racking up some major views too. The TikTok was uploaded just a few days ago and has nearly 300,000 views and over 35,000 likes. The text within the video says "This guy is a beast!" and some of the comments say:
- "Every time I do this I get banned from karaoke"
- "I would pay anything to be at a random karaoke and have this go down"
- "LEGEND"
- "Those growls *chef's kiss*"
- "The only thing wrong with this video is that [there] isn't more!"
- "This will forever be the best video"
- "This is how I will meet my future husband"
