Slipknot and Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor has proven himself a master of cover songs as we've seen over the years. Stone Sour have even recorded a series of cover EPs. But with the recent death of Tom Petty, one of Taylor's radio station appearance covers from earlier this year has surfaced.

Back in July, Taylor visited Boston radio station 107.3 WAAF and during his stop he played a cover of Tom Petty's "You Got Lucky." With Petty's death, the station tweeted out the performance with Taylor giving it a retweet online. The singer admits to not having played the track for a while, but once he starts, he fits right into the groove and emotion of the song. Watch it play out above.

Petty passed away on Monday (Oct. 2) at the age of 66. The iconic Rock and Roll Hall of Fame musician suffered cardiac arrest Sunday night and was hospitalized. Eventually his family took Petty off of life support and he passed Monday evening.

Taylor and Stone Sour are currently touring and will play Bethlehem, Pa. this evening. The band will continue with shows through the end of the year, playing both North America and Europe. See all their stops here.
