X Japan Worldwide Phenomenon Showcased in ‘Born to Be Free’ Video

X Japan have certainly made their mark on the music world. Initially rising to fame in their native Japan, the band has seen their fanbase grow worldwide over the decades and that devotional love is on display throughout the band's new video for "Born to Be Free."

The clip mixes footage from many of the band's stops around the world and on top of the performance shots, there are plenty of scenes featuring some of the band's faithful fans. The clip is full of testimonials and touching tributes to the group as expressed in many different languages around the world.

“X Japan fans are the best in the world. We hope this video shows that we appreciate all their love and support,” said X Japan’s leader and drummer Yoshiki.

"Born to Be Free" has been performed many a time over the years, but is being released as a studio version for the first time in the band's career. The studio version was recorded at Yoshiki's own recording studio in Los Angeles. If you like the song, you can currently pick it up via iTunes. In its first week of release, the track has topped the iTunes chart in 10 countries.

X Japan are preparing to release their first new album in 20 years. The release date is March 11, 2016 and the band has a number of #XDAY promotions in store.
