Dethklok vs. Gojira – Death Match

The most brutal cartoon characters in the history of animation have scooped up their first ever Death Match victory. Having defeated The Faceless, 'Metalocalypse' heroes Dethklok now look to run through another opponent to carve a blood-splattered trail into the Death Match Hall of Fame. Their next opponents may be humanoids, but they've released one of 2012's best metal albums and are hungry for a Death Match win.

Gojira have emerged as one of this year's breakout acts. Although they have been heavily admired by underground audiences for the better part of a decade, the band have captured the attention of a new demographic with the album 'L'Enfant Sauvage.' A new lyric video for 'The Axe' has just been released by Gojira, depicting a lovely, yet menacing sunset accompanied by the song's masterful lyrics.

Can Dethklok bring destruction upon Gojira in this latest Death Match? Or will the French metal heavyweights erase the satirical cartoon phenoms forever? Choose your vote, choose their fates.

Two bands fight to the death each week. Fans can vote once per hour. The triumphant band goes on to compete in the next Death Match. If a band wins four straight Death Matches, its song will be honored as immortal in the Loudwire Death Match Hall of Fame.
