Power metal gets animated in DragonForce's latest from their upcoming album Extreme Power Metal, out this Friday (Sept. 27). Watch as the cartoon metalheads attempt to shred for a woman's attention in the video for "Razorblade Meltdown," so far the third single to be released from the band's imminent effort.

The song and accompanying clip dropped Monday (Sept. 23). The animated adventure's an apt illustration of the group who will launch their album live from the Twitchcon opening ceremony the day Extreme Power Metal comes out. See the new DragonForce music video down toward the bottom of this post.

Following the previously released "Highway to Oblivion" and the Sega Genesis-inspired visual for "Heart Demolition," "Razorblade Meltdown" gives listeners a further taste of the high-powered riffing they can expect on the group's eighth album, the band's first since 2017's Reaching Into Infinity. Not that the outfit are keen to give away any more sonic clues before release day.

"In this age where our music is easily accessible, I am not going to waste time trying to describe the sound of our new album," guitarist Herman Li previously said of the upcoming record. "I'll let the music do the talking."

Last month, DragonForce fully embraced the video game meme when they performed atop giant arcade games. More recently, bassist Frédéric Leclercq left the band to join thrashers Kreator. (A temporary replacement in DragonForce was named in his stead.) Pre-order Extreme Power Metal here and see DragonForce's upcoming tour dates here.
