Leave it to Green Day to deliver on a tease grandly. After previously hinting toward the performance, the rockers performed their watershed 1994 album Dookie in its entirety Wednesday (Oct. 30).

The concert at Madrid, Spain's La Riviera included several Dookie cuts which hadn't been performed live in years, as Kerrang noted. Not the least of which being pop star Billie Eilish's favorite track from the record. Not content to leave it at that, Green Day also played a second set of non-Dookie classics. Watch fan-captured videos of the gig, and see the stacked set list, toward the bottom of this post.

It wasn't long after the band announced the Madrid show that rumors surfaced on Reddit concerning a docket full of Dookie. Natural, Green Day bandleader Billie Joe Armstrong — the high prince of anticipatory concert high jinks — began having some fun with the speculation. On Instagram, the singer and guitarist shared a close-up view of Dookie's album sleeve with a Spanish flag added to the iconic artwork.

Green Day will be playing the MTV World Stage in Seville on Nov. 2 and the show was initially thought to be a warm-up. It's not known if there will be any additional Dookie dates, but it's always a possibility. Earlier this year, Blink-182 tested the waters with an Enema of the State 20th anniversary performance before announcing a full-fledged tour supporting the album later in the summer. But with a new album looming, and the 25th anniversary year winding down for Green Day, it would seem like the time is now or never, at least in terms of this particular anniversary.

That new Green Day effort — Father of All Motherfuckers — is out Feb. 7, 2020. The band will tour the States with Fall Out Boy and Weezer following its release. In addition to the album's title track, single "Fire, Ready, Aim" has emerged, first in an NBC Sports NHL hockey ad. "Father of All..." also spawned a special coffee blend.
