Following the success of Jimmy Page’s book, 2014’s “Jimmy Page by Jimmy Page,” the Led Zeppelin guitarist will release a new book that documents his musical career. “Jimmy Page: The Anthology” will dig deep into the legend's personal archives using photos that span six decades.

"The Anthology" is narrated in Page’s own words and will highlight the instruments he used throughout his life, including his “Dragon” Fender Telecaster used to record Led Zeppelin I and his famous “Number One” 1959 Gibson Les Paul. According to Genesis Publications, the book documents Page’s “remarkable musical journey from listening to blues records with childhood friend Jeff Beck, to performing on TV in a Skiffle band; from his colossal body of session work in the Sixties, through to the Yardbirds and Led Zeppelin, and on to bands such as The Firm, Coverdale & Page and Page & Plant.”

The book will feature hundreds of items from Page’s private collection, including iconic guitars, stage costumes, rare posters, vinyl pressings, diary entries and never-before-seen photographs complete with exclusive stories behind each item.

Page says, “I’ve really got a lot of time for the way Genesis produce their books, they’re really quality items. As someone who’s always been interested in having a library themselves, I appreciate fine bookbinding and their whole ethic of what they do and what they’re trying to do with a whole catalogue of books.”

“Jimmy Page: The Anthology” will be published in a limited edition of only 2,500 numbered copies, each signed by the iconic guitarist. The 384-page book is quarter-bound in black leather with gold leaf blocking and gilt page edging. The felt-lined slipcase was inspired by the Selmer case of Page’s first electric guitar, a 1958 Resonet Futurama. It will be released in December and costs £395, the equivalent of $487. Fans can pre-order it here.

Led Zeppelin last performed at the Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert in London on Dec. 10, 2007. The show was filmed and released as Celebration Day CD and DVD in 2012.
