Nine Inch Nails Top 2017 Panorama Fest Bill; Red Hot Chili Peppers Among Bonnaroo 2017 Headliners
There seems to be a trend developing among non-rock and metal centric festivals this year. With Tool set to headline Governors Ball, there's more rock coming to the like-minded Panorama Fest and Bonnaroo with Nine Inch Nails and Red Hot Chili Peppers nabbing headlining spots respectively.
The Panorama Music Fest will be held at the tail end of July from the 28th through 30th in New York City with industrial legends Nine Inch Nails closing out the weekend (see full lineup below). The band released the Not the Actual Events EP towards the end of 2016, flush with aggressive tracks that stand in contrast to their last full length effort, Hesitation Marks. There's no word on whether NIN will be dropping a new studio record this year, but given Trent Reznor's propensity for surprise releases fans will have to wait with nervous anticipation.
As the Red Hot Chili Peppers continue to support their latest release, 2016's The Getaway, they're a natural choice to top a festival bill. This year, they'll enjoy a headlining slot at Bonnaroo, which is set for June 8 through 11 in Manchester, Tenn. U2 will also serve as one of the weekend's headliners, performing their legendary Joshua Tree album in its entirety in celebration of the landmark record's 30th anniversary.
The remainder of the Bonnaroo lineup is flooded with acts outside of the rock world, with top attractions including The Weeknd, Chance the Rapper, Major Lazer, Lorde among dozens of others. Some other rock acts have made their way onto the bill, however, with sets coming from Cage the Elephant, Kaleo and Royal Blood. Check out the full lineup in the poster below.
