Green Day are about to get some competition in the small world of punk musicals. Rolling Stone reports that NOFX singer Fat Mike is prepping a new musical to tour the United States called ‘Home Street Home’ and he’s even enlisting help from the Tony-award winning composer of ‘Avenue Q,’ Jeff Marx.

‘Home Street Home’ tells the story a group of homeless street kids. Fat Mike states, "I was trying to record this album for three years, so I got some of the best singers that I knew, and when we got the producer Jeff Marx on board, the story started changing, and we had to keep dropping songs and writing new ones."

The soundtrack will be released on Feb. 10 by Fat Wreck Chords and contains contributions from Frank Turner, Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba, the Descendents and Tony Sly, the late singer of No Use for a Name.

While there’s no word yet on tour dates or who’s been cast in the musical, we do know that ‘Home Street Home’ is set to open on Feb. 20 with a show booked for New York City in June.
