Though Pixies shut down their 2021 tour due to COVID, the band is getting ready for their live return later this month, and when they hit the stage, there will be at least one new song to share. That's because the band just released their new video for "Human Crime," which has been served up as a digital-exclusive single.

The band recorded the new song last fall in Los Angeles and the band's bassist Paz Lenchantin recently directed the video for the track in the Los Angeles area near the San Pedro bunkers and Santa Monica's Gold Diggers Bar. The clip follows a bit of the song's narrative, centering on a fairy that has been shut out of her world and left to navigate another dimension.

“The storyline is loosely based on an ‘inside joke’ between Charles and I about going on tour. How we go through a door from our reality state into the altered state of becoming and being a Pixie,” says Lenchantin of the clip's muse. Take a look at the lyrics and video below and if you like what you hear, the song is available via multiple platforms here.

Pixies, "Human Crime" Lyrics

I’m sorry I missed you
I was already gone
No goodbye kiss
No one fought me to leave home

Into the blue skies
Takes me far away

Don't you be unkind
It's a human crime
Don't be so blind
It’ll come back to you sometime

Went by your place
There was nobody there
At the cocktail lounge
Someone else was in your chair

No even the sunshine feels like misery
Even the blue skies are falling down on me

Don't you be unkind
It's a human crime
Don't be so blind
It’ll come back to you sometime

Don't you be unkind
It's a human crime
Don't be so blind
It’ll come back to you sometime
