Dec. 8, 2014 marks the 10th anniversary of Pantera / Damageplan guitarist ‘Dimebag’ Darrell Abbott‘s tragic death. In remembrance of the guitar great, we’ve spoken to rock and metal’s greatest musicians to gather stories and testimonies of admiration towards the immortal shredder.

In the video above, Sixx: A.M. / Guns N' Roses guitarist DJ Ashba recalls the generosity that Dimebag Darrell and his brother Vinnie Paul showed him as a young musician. In the clip, Ashba recalls being a member of Beautiful Creatures on an early Ozzfest and being invited by Dime and his brother to their strip club after a visit to Dallas.

Ashba also recalls Pantera's influence on his own life and comments on Dime's masterful guitar work. "What can you say," says Ashba. "We miss him."
