Mark your calendars, bikers and Dimebag Darrell fans so you can "gitcha pull," as Dime used to say! The 2012 "Ride for Dime" date has been announced and it will take place on Saturday, March 31, 2012, in Tampa, Fla. The Ride for Dime is a motorcycle run and is of particular interest to Pantera fans as well as cycle enthusiasts who happen to be headbangers. More importantly, it benefits a terrific cause.

The event sponsored by Ride for Dime Inc, a charitable organization, honors the lives of the late, great and much-missed Pantera guitarist, who was shot to death while performing with his post-Pantera project Damageplan in December 2004, along with others. Hard to believe it's going to be seven years since we lost Dime.

The organization donates to charities that Dime cared about during his life, such as Little Kids Rock. The Ride for Dime Scholarship launched in 2010 and is still going strong. There are six RFD chapters nationwide and each holds its own event. Active chapters are located in Texas, Philadelphia, Chicago, Florida, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.

"Check it out and come on out and celebrate my brother’s life. He was a beautiful man and great person and Ride for Dime has their heart in the right place," says his brother and bandmate Vinnie Paul Abbott.

The 2012 Ride For Dime event is sponsored by Dean Guitars.
