Slipknot Are ‘Trying Something New’ for Upcoming ‘Nero Forte’ Video
One of 2019's biggest releases in metal was Slipknot's We Are Not Your Kind, which came out at the beginning of August. From the collection of new tracks, "Nero Forte" seems to be a favorite among fans, so the band are "trying something new" for its upcoming video.
Founding member Shawn "Clown" Crahan, who has directed the videos for the Knot in the past, posted a video on the band's twitter to announce they had started working on a video for "Nero Forte."
"Clown here. It's the 28th, we're getting ready for our video — 'Nero Forte,'" he began. "We grabbed an MGM spot where they have a sound stage. Usually in Slipknot, things get crazy quickly and we start losing time because of space. So we brought the space in a lot tighter and I think this is gonna work."
"Now we can paint. Everyone that's involved can paint — camera can paint, lights can paint, I can paint — everyone can just put their two cents in and really get in here and make something special."
Crahan expects his involvement in the process to take four days total, with filming and editing. "To all the Slipknot fans, this is going to be an amazing time. Thanks for being here. We're trying something new. Welcome to 'Nero Forte' — the dark force."
Slipknot returned in 2019 with a video for "Unsainted" — the first single off the new album, where their new masks were revealed for the first time. "Solway Firth" followed, with a video toward the end of July. Considering the group's videos have always had haunting, dangerous elements in the past, we can't wait to see what they've got in store for us with this new one.
The Knot are off to South America next month to resume their Knotfest Roadshow. Get tickets here.
