Finnish metal band Sole Remedy lost their guitarist Mikko Laine last night (Oct. 2), when he was killed in a horrific truck accident.

The unfortunate incident happened around 1:30 a.m., after the band’s show at the Prog Power Europe Festival in Baarlo. According to Blabbermouth, which states the details of the catastrophe from a representative for the Sjiwa youth center where the concert took place that, Laine was sleeping next to a fence when he was run over by a truck.

The truck was loaded with equipment and instruments when the unaware driver of the vehicle drove backwards and turned onto the road. The 50-year-old driver didn't see Laine, who died at the site. Laine was 30 years old.

Sole Remedy, from Lahti, Finland, formed in 1998 and their most recent release came out last September, a concept album titled ‘Apoptosis’ via Aftermath Music.

On Sole Remedy’s official website, they show their remembrance of Laine by posting a picture of him playing guitar on the homepage. Below the photo, it reads, “Rest in peace Mikko 1981-2011. Mikko has died in a terrible accident while on tour at Netherlands.”
