Yesterday (Sept. 13), on the same day that Staind debuted their new self-titled disc, the band also premiered a telling documentary titled ‘The Making of Staind’ on YouTube.

The one-hour documentary, which fans can check out below, takes fans behind the scenes for an up close and personal look at the painstaking process the band went through writing the new album including the band’s brush with a possible breakup.

The raw look at the not so glamorous side of rock 'n' roll was an important part of the band’s evolution. Although they managed to stay together throughout the turmoil, drummer Jon Wysocki did end up leaving the band for reasons undisclosed.

Commenting on the process, frontman Aaron Lewis said, "I feel like this is the opportunity for Staind to get back to where we were at in the beginning when all we wanted to do was write f--king heavy songs." Although they got lost a bit along the way, the end results show Staind definitely finding their way back to their roots with a return to their gritty, heavier sound that put them on the map.
