While Shavo Odadjian likely sent System of a Down into a frenzy earlier this week with talk of the band writing new songs, the bassist also will likely send gamers to new heights of excitement with his involvement in another project. Odadjian has been spending time working on some of the music for the upcoming "Mortal Kombat X" video game.

In the trailer above, you can watch as Odadjian views a screen with some of the game action playing out and telling the editor how to place the music with what's going on visually. And those with a keen ear will notice that the track that is playing is none other than System of a Down's mega hit "Chop Suey."

"It's actually, I'm re-editing the song," says Odadjian in the clip. "I felt like I was more editing a movie. I kind of forgot that it was a video game during the edit." Odadjian, of course, has experience in such things as he's directed and edited numerous videos over the years. He also teamed with RZA and Hans Zimmer to provide the score for the film Babylon A.D. with Vin Diesel.

"Mortal Kombat X" is expected to arrive in stores next month for multiple platforms. Circle April 14 on your calendar to pick up the tenth edition of the popular video game series.
