Michigan metalers The Black Dahlia Murder recently performed at New York's Gramercy Theater during the holiday season. The band has been spending the latter part of the year trekking around in support of their brand new album Abysmal but The Black Dahlia Murder’s performance was far from abysmal!

Their headlining set started with their new track “Receipt,” and all of their fans stepped up the frenzy during the favorite “What a Horrible Night to Have a Curse.” Frontman Trevor Strnad spewed out new tracks “Vlad, Son of the Dragon,” “Threat Level No. 3” and the titular song “Abysmal.” The intensity of the crowd and rapid-fire nature of the band's music makes the Black Dahlia Murder live show invigorating and just plain ruthless. With seven studio albums under their belt and nearly 15 years of music, The Black Dahlia Murder continue to slay and their loyal fans are right there with them.

Hailing from New Orleans, Goatwhore have crushed every time they’ve played New York City. Whether it’s a small show at Saint Vitus Bar in Brooklyn or whether they’re terrorizing Gramercy Theater in Manhattan, they always obliterate. The infamous lyrics, “Who needs God / When you’ve got Satan” from “Apocalyptic Havoc” filled the room and the band also cranked out the very romantic “FBS” (also known as “F---ed By Satan”) for the ladies. Needless to say Goatwhore not only have a kickass name but their energy knows no bounds and they’re some of the nicest guys around.

With a summersault to the stage, Municipal Waste frontman Tony Foresta got things rolling. He's a ball of energy even more so as the vocalist of his other band Iron Reagan, who hit the stage earlier in the night. They let loose for a speedy, 20-song setlist and it was pure thrashy mayhem, chaotic from beginning to end. Any time Iron Reagan comes to town they rage and you best be warned.

Opening acts included female fronted band Entheos who delivered a primal set, rightfully so as they dropped their debut EP Primal earlier this year. The hometown boys from Long Island, Artificial Brain, kicked off the night with a lively set.
