The Devil Wears Prada Celebrate ‘Zombie’ EP in NYC With Born of Osiris, The Word Alive + Secrets
The Devil Wears Prada recently graced Irving Plaza in New York City to celebrate the fifth anniversary of their standout EP Zombie, and they brought along Born of Osiris, the Word Alive and Secrets for a truly rocking show.
Headliners the Devil Wears Prada kicked off their set with their track “Assistant to the Regional Manager" followed by their 8:18 favorite “Sailor’s Prayer.” In the middle of their set, they switched gears and delivered all of the Zombie songs -- “Escape,” “Anatomy,” “Outnumbered,” “Revive” and “Survivor” -- in sequential order.
Despite the new lineup change with founding member and guitarist Chris Rubey exiting the band, The Devil Wears Prada performed with full force. Puddles of sweat were left on the floors as the night ended with “Born to Lose” and “Danger: Wildman.”
Born of Osiris took the stage prior to the headliners and the floor of Irving Plaza shook as fans forcefully moshed throughout the night. Seeing the band onstage is a primitive, relentless experience with a bit of sensory overload for good measure. With each song fans became more zealous and we can safely say that the floor of the venue is still intact but it is a tad dented.
The Word Alive gave a crushing performance as their fans belted out “Play the Victim” and “Glass Castle” from their latest album aptly titled Real. This band is definitely the real deal. Their energy onstage is undeniable and frontman Telle Smith ended the notable set by diving into the crowd.
Secrets opened up the show with a lively performance. Their energy is unwavering. It’s easy to see why people gravitate towards Secrets and from the crowd’s reaction we’ll be waiting for them to grace the stage in New York again.
