The Dillinger Escape Plan have just revealed what may be their final U.S. tour dates ever. Before taking an extended hiatus, Dillinger will spend over a month on the road traversing across the country beginning Oct. 12 in Baltimore, Md. A full list of dates can be seen below.

Since forming in 1997, The Dillinger Escape Plan have remained at the forefront of artistic exploration in extreme music, never putting out the same album twice and consistently testing fans’ ability to absorb depth through unrelenting sonic punishment. Dillinger’s sixth album, Dissociation, could be the band’s swan song and this tour may be our only chance to experience this new work live.

"This album, and the touring we have booked to support it, is a celebration of creation through deconstruction,” says guitarist Ben Weinman. “We will all go into this journey fully embracing the power of unpredictability."

In other Dillinger news, the MVP of this year’s GWAR-B-Q goes to a Dillinger Escape Plan megafan who came to the rescue during the band’s set. After vocalist Greg Puciato was unable to make Dillinger’s performance, a fan from the crowd filled in for Puciato to give audience members the full DEP experience.

The 7th annual GWAR-B-Q gave the freaks in attendance a full day of metal, punk rock, meat and beer! Unfortunately, The Dillinger Escape Plan’s Greg Puciato had his flight from Los Angeles cancelled and was unable to make the Richmond, Va. fest. To make up for Puciato’s absence, Dillinger invited Brain Tentacles’ Bruce Lamont to perform Greg’s vocal melodies on saxophone. Dillinger were about halfway through their set with Lamont when a fan named Dylan Lawson rushed the stage and suddenly began belting out Puciato’s unhinged lyrics.

“Greg's flight got cancelled so this was going to be an instrumental set,” a friend of Lawson’s wrote in the description of the YouTube video below. “My buddy Dylan utilized the back of his ticket by writing on it saying, ‘Let me do a song with you, I know them all!’ and held it up. The band OK'd it and he hopped the fence to get onstage. Some of security tried to remove him until Liam [Wilson, bass] got after them.” Lawson ended up behind the mic for “When I Lost My Bet” and “Sunshine the Wolf.” Watch fan-shot footage in the player above.
