It's not uncommon for the younger generation to cite the rockers that came before them for the inspiration, but it can work both ways, as Tom Keifer revealed in a new interview with LA Metal Media.

Speaking about his friendship and working relationship with Halestorm's Lzzy Hale, Keifer admitted, "I know she cites me as an influence, but I would have to say she's been an incredible inspiration for me vocally."

He explained, "Singing with her really makes you feel like you need to step up, because she can sing. So, you always walk out there when you're gonna sing with Lzzy and say, 'Okay, I've gotta step up here.' So, she's a huge inspiration - not only vocally; she's a great guitarist, a great writer and just a great person." Keifer was effusive in his praise for not only Hale but the full Halestorm band and having toured with them over the years they've become great friends.

The friendship was cemented on tour with an onstage collaboration. Hale joined Keifer on a duet of his Cinderella favorite "Nobody's Fool" and it actually became so popular they decided to hit the studio together to record their take for The Way Life Goes deluxe edition. "It was just a blast doing it. I'm very proud of it. I think it came out really cool," said Keifer.

Having found success with his first solo outing, Keifer is back with the Rise album, which was released just last month. Catch Keifer and his #keiferband on tour at these stops.
