Listen: Trivium Stay Alive on New Song “Drowning in the Sound”
Trivium keep the fire burning with "Drowning in the Sound," a soaring new tune released Thursday (May 16) that appears to be a holdover from The Sin and the Sentence sessions, as noted by Theprp.com. It's the latest blast of audio from Matt Heafy's Florida-based groove unit since they covered Type O Negative in April and re-recorded their own past jam "Pillar of Serpents" the month prior.

While it had been publicly discussed by band members as early as last year, "Drowning in the Sound" got its official release this week on the heels of Trivum's summer European tour dates, following a quick breather for the group.
Guitarist Corey Beaulieu outlined the band's sojourn during a recent chat with radio station WSMC 90.3's the Metal Teddy Bear Experience, and it apparently includes ongoing songwriting sessions for the band's members.
"We always are writing during downtime, so there's always demos of riffs or songs" waiting to be worked on, the musician revealed. And if his timeline is any indication, a new Trivium album should be on the way next year.
