Static-X frontman Wayne Static will be rocking the 'Pighammer' on Oct. 4, when he releases his debut solo album. 'Pighammer' will be released via Dirthouse Records. The album is reportedly deeply personal for Static, as his recent, self-described "dark" year was the source that he mined for material for 'Pighammer.'

The first single is dubbed 'Assassins of Youth' and it was inspired by the last days of partying that the singer-guitarist indulged in before getting clean. Art imitated life in this case and the song lingered for several years before Static finished it. "I wrote this song while living in a hotel room, listening to Pink Floyd, drinking Crown and doing whippits,” reveals Static in a press release. "I started the song in that condition but never finished it until years later after dumping off the drugs. Now, the song has a whole new meaning from when I started it."

Even the title of the track is an old-school reference to drugs, with Static saying the first verse is about doing drugs, the chorus is about going "dry" and the second chorus is about quitting drugs and no longer being enslaved by them.

Being clean allowed Static to indulge a new and different side of creative mind. In fact, the idea of a 'Pighammer' is a conceptual one, twisting the general notion of a cosmetic surgeon in a sick, sick way. The unifying theme of 'Pighammer' sounds like the script to a modern horror movie. "The Pighammer concept conjures up bizarre images,” Static says. "It's about a mad plastic surgeon, with a pig fetish, that likes to convert hot chicks into pigs. It is the total opposite if what a plastic surgeon would do. He has this crazy hammer device made from a pig foot. The images of the surgery in the CD package are only a dark comedic visualization of the real theme of the album, which is my transformation."

Maybe a Hollywood script doctor could take the 'Pighammer' idea and start a gore franchise started, since that extended metaphor sounds intense.

A radio DJ at KFMX in Lubbock, Texas, had the privilege of previewing three tracks off the album, and called them 'amazing.' Check out what else he had to say about the tunes here.

Static plans to embark on fall tour when he drops the 'Pighammer' on the hard rock world's collective head.
