If there's one thing that has been consistent with Slipknot, it's that they've always had nine members. But those members have changed quite a bit, especially over the last few years.

In the mid-to-late-'90s, there was a revolving door of musicians, as there typically is when bands are first getting their footing and solidifying their lineup. We're not going to focus on the members who were only in the band for a short period of time before Slipknot came out in 1999.

Their lineup actually remained the same from the time that album came out until the late 2000s. It consisted of Shawn "Clown" Crahan, Paul Gray, Joey Jordison, Mick Thomson, Corey Taylor, Craig Jones, Sid Wilson, Chris Fehn and Jim Root all the way up until 2010, when Gray tragically died at the age of 38.

After they overcame the tragedy, fans were struck with another shock to the system when the band announced out of the blue that they'd split with Jordison in December of 2013. Eventually, fans warmed up to their two new mystery members, who were later to be revealed as Jay Weinberg and Alessandro "V-Man" Venturella.

Another five years went by without any changes to the group, until they parted with Fehn. And since then, three more members have suddenly departed as well, with the most recent being Wilson.
