It looked like it was gonna be a classic Black Sabbath matchup between Ozzy Osbourne and Ronnie James Dio in the quarterfinals of our Greatest Metal Frontman tournament, but due to a late push by Slipknot and their fans, Corey Taylor overtook Ozzy to face the late great Dio.

All week, Osbourne was leading Taylor, but as mentioned, Slipknot fans surged over the weekend to give Taylor the victory over the Prince of Darkness. With Taylor acquiring 58 percent of the votes, it looks like Ozzy might be rethinking taking Slipknot out on Ozzfest all those years ago! With defeats over Ozzy and Randy Blythe under his belt, the competition doesn't get easier for Taylor, who is one of metal's most dynamic live performers.

The late Ronnie James Dio edged out Marilyn Manson in a close matchup where Dio prevailed with 53 percent of the votes. It was anybody's match to win, but the beloved Ronnie wound up on top. Dio had one of the greatest voices ever in metal, and he'll be a tough act to defeat. The late metal master already has defeated King Diamond and Manson, but Corey Taylor will provide some extremely tough competition!
