One of London's most exciting and emerging metalcore acts, Counting Days, are just a little over a week away from releasing their debut album Liberated Sounds, due Oct. 16. The group plays with a certain ferocity that is destined to turn them into an act to be reckoned with, and we've got the exclusive premiere of their scorching new track, "Burned By Faith," which opens up the album with a kick straight to the gut.

Counting Days display a raw and aggressive sound, courtesy of famed producer Fredrik Nordström. The Dream Evil guitarist has produced albums from some of metal's greatest, including Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquillity, At the Gates, In Flames, Opeth, Dimmu Borgir, and so many more. Nordström has pushed the buttons behind some of these bands' most pivotal releases, and now can add Liberated Sounds to his legacy.

Immediately, it is clear that the band take a wealth of influence from Swedish death metal, employing a buzzsaw guitar sound and an almost ceaseless stream of melody behind the crushing guitar tone. Guitarist Charlie Wilson, one of the men behind that buzzsaw sound, adds, "'Burned By Faith' is one of our favorite and heaviest tracks from our new record. Lyrically it is about crimes committed in the name of religions and simply questioning the existence of a god or high being."

Counting Days deliver a vicious performance redolent of At the Gates, who just about single-handedly influenced the entire metalcore genre. Liberated Sounds even features a guest spot from At the Gates' Tomas Lindberg, which fits perfectly with the savage performance of vocalist Thomas Debaere. Lindberg is featured on the track "Sands of Time."

Liberated Sounds is out Oct. 16 on Mascot Records. You can pre-order the album here.
