The excitement continues for Foo Fighters fans as the band has made a strong return from the hiatus they announced last year. The alt rock legends have written their next musical chapter by way of the new album, Concrete and Gold, and have previewed the studio offering by debuting another new song live.

"Dirty Water" was premiered in Paris on July 3 and was one of just two Concrete and Gold songs that made it into the set list, the other being "Run," which was the first single to be released. The track features two distinctly different halves, maintaining a subdued vibe early on set to a series of jangling, surf-like chords. The song picks up in intensity during certain parts as lush beds of sustained chords crash likes waves on the shore at low tide.

After a slight pause, the Foos flip the switch on "Dirty Water," keeping it heavy throughout the rest of the song. The guitars continue with driving force, now riding the waves of those surf rock chords rather than merely watching them roll in at the shore.

This is the fourth new song the band has dished out from Concrete and Gold thus far, having previously debuted "Sunday Rain," which featured Taylor Hawkins taking lead vocal, and "Lah Dee Dah" live in addition to the studio version of "Run." In recent years we've seen bands shy away from playing new songs live with the rise of fan-shot videos, but Dave Grohl has always seemed to operate on his own terms.

Concrete and Gold will be out on Sept. 15 through Roswell Records / RCA and the Foo Fighters will hit the road shortly after in support. The band kicks off their U.S. run at the Cal Jam festival on Oct. 7 and all stops can be found here.
