Halestorm Back in Studio to Record New Album
Halestorm have been on the road for what seems like an eternity, but they've carved out some time in their schedule to return to the studio and work on their next album. The band has been documenting the process of late with plenty of photos from the studio on their Instagram account.
Back in June, vocalist Lzzy Hale told 'Loudwire Nights' host Full Metal Jackie that things were moving along well on their follow-up to 'The Strange Case Of…' disc. She explained, "Honestly, we are almost done with recording the record. We have a lot of great songs. It’s really going to be a very difficult narrowing down process. Somewhere along the line, you figure it out."
The vocalist added that she always revisits Judas Priest, Motorhead and more of her hard rocking heroes when it comes to writing, but that the group was exploring all sorts of sounds for their new disc.
In the photos below, Hale and her bandmates raise a glass during the final night before returning to the studio. Other shots find the band members getting used to their studio surroundings and hanging with their studio dog. Meanwhile, one photos suggests they might be recording in a church of some kind. Check out the shots below and see their full catalog of photos via their Instagram site.
As for what fans can expect, Hale commented, "Really, the biggest thing we're trying to do on this record or the biggest difference is we’re really trying to bridge the gap between what people see live and what people hear in our records. We haven’t actually captured that yet. I’m really proud of the last two records, but I think its time to simplify and really get back to what in all honestly, what we do best [laughs]. Trying to put our best foot forward with this one."
Stay tuned to see how it plays out and keep an eye out for Halestorm heading back on the road beginning Sept. 27 at the Shindig Festival in Baltimore, Md. They also have a number of tour dates this fall with country music superstar Eric Church. See their dates here.
