Killswitch Engage Release ‘Unleashed,’ Announce ‘Atonement’ Album

Killswitch Engage have just announced the details to Atonement, their eighth album, which will be released on Aug. 16 on Metal Blade. Check out the first single, "Unleashed," below alongside the album art and track listing.

It's a tone-setting track with a doomy, ominous opening and a monstrous scream from Jesse Leach, who sounds exemplary after having vocal surgery. Leach's glistening cleans are belted across a series of chugs, making "Unleashed" an emotional juggernaut.

"'Unleashed' is about inner passion and rage coming up to the surface," said Leach. "We all have that wild within that often stays dormant until a tragic event triggers and awakens it. This song is about that awakening within. I feel we were able to capture something raw and intense on this song and I'm stoked for everyone to hear it! The new album Atonement is a reflection of perseverance and passion through the trials and suffering of our existence."
