Yesterday we reported the very sad news that former Korn touring guitarist Shane Gibson passed away at the age of 35. Gibson had taken over live guitar duties for the band from 2007 to 2010 following Brian 'Head' Welch's exit from the group.

Gibson died on Tuesday, April 15, as the result of a blood-clotting disorder. He was mourned in a Facebook post by his most recent band, stOrk, but now Korn have paid tribute to their onetime touring guitarist. In addition, Brian 'Head' Welch, who is back in the band, and fellow Korn guitarist James 'Munky' Shaffer have penned individual tributes to Gibson.

Korn's tribute to Gibson reads as follows:

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Shane Gibson's friends, fans and family following the passing of our dear friend. Shane Gibson was Korn's touring guitarist from 2007 to 2010 and a member of Jonathan Davis' solo band, The SFA's. He will be greatly missed.

Head writes the following of Gibson:

I've never had the pleasure of meeting Shane, but I'm honored he was able to fill my spot after I left Korn. He was an amazing guitarist. Hopefully we can jam together in the next life. RIP brother.

Munky's statement follows:

Shane Gibson, you were an amazing guitar player and an amazing person. Your kindness and talent will be missed. I'm very fortunate to have known you.

Loudwire would like to extend our thoughts to the family and friends of Shane Gibson.
