Motley Crue’s Tommy Lee Mourns Loss of Mother
Sad news to report from the Motley Crue camp. Tommy Lee's mother, Vassiliki "Voula" Papadimitriou, has passed away. Details of how or when the drummer's mother died have not been made public, but Lee informed his fans of his loss via a series of tweets from his personal Twitter account.
In her early years, Papadimitriou was a beauty queen in her home country of Greece, making it far enough to compete for and win the title of Miss Greece in 1957. Tommy Lee's parents moved from Athens, Greece, to California in 1963 when the future drumming icon was a mere one year of age. From then on, the influence of California, drumming and metal took hold of Lee, launching him into the legendary status he still holds today.
Lee took to his Twitter page to pay tribute to his beloved mother over past few days:
One of the loves of my life has gone. My Dear Mother has passed ;(
