The new year is getting off rocking start, as radio stations are being hit with a batch of new songs in January 2012 from bands such as Anthrax, Shinedown and Van Halen.

An older, yet wiser Van Halen bring their signature sound back for their newest single, 'Tattoo.' Twenty-eight long years after Van Halen's last album with David Lee Roth at the helm, the band is set to release 'A Different Kind of Truth' on Feb. 7.

Metal legends Anthrax and Ministry have both offered new tracks  -- Anthrax with 'I'm Alive,' the latest single off 'Worship Music,' and Ministry with their pro-Occupy Wall Street anthem '99%.'

Other radio releases include 'I Come Alive' by the Used, 'Baby Come Home' by Bush and 'I See Lights' by Iron Maiden guitarist Adrian Smith's side project Primal Rock Rebellion
