Each year, it seems like Rock Goddess is always the most popular of all the categories in our year-end awards. With the presence of women in rock as strong as it's ever been, there's no doubt that the competition should be a good one in the 3rd Annual Loudwire Music Awards.

With last year's winner, Evanescence's Amy Lee, not back to defend her crown as the group was inactive in 2013, and our inaugural winner, Sharon Den Adel of Within Temptation, looking to have a big year in 2014, we will crown a new Rock Goddess this year.

Three of last year's competitors return to vie for the title. Halestorm's Lzzy HaleIn This Moment's Maria Brink and HuntressJill Janus continued to rock our world in 2013, and joining them on this year's ballot are Kylesa's Laura Pleasants and Sick Puppies bassist Emma Anzai. Emma Anzai

    Sick Puppies

Sick Puppies made a major return in 2013 with their 'Connect' album, and fans were definitely connecting with the wicked bass licks laid down by bassist Emma Anzai. The striking and hard rocking bassist Anzai definitely lights up a stage and she's the perfect compliment to the hard rocking melodic goodness of her bandmates Shim Moore and Mark Goodwin. Their banner year included the hits singles 'There's No Going Back' and 'Gunfight.'
