Velvet Revolver have gone through a proverbial spinning of the cylinder as former vocalist Scott Weiland and current guitarist Slash have been sending completely opposite messages to fans. Just as Weiland insisted that he was once again a member of the band, the claims were swatted down by Slash.

In a recent interview with ABC News Radio, Weiland delivered what was thought to be the official announcement of the Velvet Revolver reunion. "We’ve all grown a lot,” Weiland stated. “We’re able to put egos and differences and old … conflicts aside and so that’s really cool.” Weiland even claimed that he was working on a new album with Velvet Revolver. “They gave me a couple of songs and myself and [guitarist] Dave [Kushner] and [bassist] Duff [McKagan] are gonna be getting together for a song writing session next week."

Slash quickly hit the breaks regarding the news during an interview with Minneapolis/St. Paul radio station 93X. "He’s out of his mind," says Slash. "There’s been a common rumor going around. I know that he’s been positive on that subject. Maybe they know something I don’t. I have absolutely no intention of going back to that … “I’m on tour all this year. I’ll have to call Duff [McKagan], but I seriously doubt that. We have no intentions of going backwards.”

This is what one may call an odd situation. Was Weiland outright lying when he made his return announcement? Did Dave Kushner and Duff McKagan invite Weiland back into the band without first getting Slash's opinion? Is Slash attempting to keep a secret? Or is he telling the truth? We want your opinion. Vote for what you think is going on in the poll below.
