Hello Maggots, and welcome to Slipknot Week. We worship the Knot over here, but considering We Are Not Your Kind will be out in just a few days, we're gonna show 'em some extra love. To start off the week, the band have released another anthemic new song from the album, "Birth of the Cruel."

The track starts off with Slipknot's signature stomping rhythm, paired with Corey Taylor echoing over the verses before the chorus explodes into a frenzy of snarling vocals and fierce guitar riffs. It debuted on Zane Lowe's "World Record" on Apple Music Beats 1.

"Hey karma, you don't feel like I do/You just wish you'd hate like I do."

This is the third song they've released from the forthcoming album, following "Unsainted" and "Solway Firth," both of which were paired with intensely visual music videos.

Listen to "Birth of the Cruel" below.

Slipknot are currently out on their Knotfest Roadshow, see the dates here. We Are Not Your Kind will be out this Friday, Aug. 9. Stay tuned for more Slipknot coverage to celebrate its release, and check out our review of the album here.
