System of a Down vs. Cannibal Corpse – Metal Madness 2013, Round 1
Next up in Round 1 of the Headbanger Region, eclectic metal masters System of a Down battle it out with death metal pioneers Cannibal Corpse to decide which act will move on to Round 2 of March Metal Madness 2013 and come one step closer to being named the greatest metal album of all time.
System of a Down exploded into the mainstream consciousness right as their sophomore set 'Toxicity' was released in 2001. With such unique yet infectious tunes as 'Chop Suey!, 'Aerials,' 'Psycho' and the title track, 'Toxicity' is not only a modern-day metal masterpiece but one of the best albums of the 21st century.
Released in 1992 when current Six Feet Under vocalist Chris Barnes was still in the band, Cannibal Corpse's third studio album, 'Tomb of the Mutilated' consists of fan favorites 'Hammer Smashed Face' and 'I C-m Blood.' The album changed the face of brutal death meta and was even famously banned in Germany.
