A series of shooting and stabbing attacks by Palestinian attackers have taken place in Israel over the past several days, including one stabbing attack in the city of Jaffa that left an American tourist dead and several others injured. However, a musician was able to save himself by beating the assailant with a guitar.

The Jaffa attack coincided with a visit from U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, who was meeting with Israeli and Palestinian leaders as part of a two-day visit. An American tourist named Taylor Force was killed during the stabbing spree by a Palestinian attacker, who also stabbed several other people.

During the incident, a man named Yishai (pictured in the Facebook post above), who was wearing a Tool shirt at the time, managed to fend off an attacker while he was stabbing people in the street. "I was sitting down playing guitar and I heard screaming from across the street," Yishai told Israeli news station Channel 2 (via the Associated Press). "I saw a man run at me with a knife, I ran at him with the guitar and smashed it in his head. He was so stunned and didn't know what to do with himself and then started running away."

The knife-wielding man ran off and continued to attack civilians before being shot and killed by authorities. Joe Biden has expressed sorrow for the injuries and loss of life, offering well wishes to the family of the deceased and those wounded in the attacks.
