We recently reported that James Durbin, the resident rocker on last season's 'American Idol,' is set to release his debut album ‘Memories of a Beautiful Disaster’ on Nov. 21.

As details about the album continue to trickle in, video footage has surfaced of Motley Crue’s sinister axe-master Mick Mars recording in the studio with Durbin. News of the collaboration first hit the net when Mars mentioned on Twitter that he was “in the studio working with James Durbin on a killer track!”

Durbin responded to Mars tweet with an ecstatic “That’s Right!  Mick F'n Mars! Playing on MY record!! This is so unbelievable!!!” In the video below, Durbin checks in from the studio while the "incomparable, unbelievable" Mick Mars can be seen laying down tracks in the background.

While not much info is available just yet on Mick’s involvement, we’ll keep you posted as details develop. Durbin also worked with Sixx: A.M.’s James Michael on a song as well as influential rock writer Marti Frederiksen.

Durbin’s love for the rock and metal genre was celebrated throughout his time on American Idol where he delivered an array of energetic rock performancesm including Judas Priest’s ‘You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’.'

Durbin recently held auditions to put his band together and tweeted earlier today about the results, “That felt amazing! We’ve got a few more hours but I think I’ve found my band!’
