With the inaugural Loudwire Music Awards ceremony and concert set to take over The Novo in downtown Los Angeles on Oct. 24, it's now time to open the official voting in all of the Loudwire Music Awards categories (listed below).

As you can see in the categories listed below, veteran acts like Metallica, Iron Maiden and Avenged Sevenfold had big years, while up-and-comers like Power Trip, Code Orange and Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes also scored nominations. Beginning today, Aug. 15, and continuing through the deadline of Oct. 2 at 11:59PM ET, fans will be able to vote for their favorites in each of the Loudwire categories, including Album and Artist of the Year in both heavy metal and hard rock. See a listing of all the nominees below.

The Loudwire Music Awards will be curating exclusive playlists on Apple Music to spotlight the top hard rock and heavy metal released this past year, and Apple Music will be featuring these playlists in support of the Heavy Metal Song of the Year, Hard Rock Song of the Year and Breakthrough Band categories. For each of those three categories, fans will let their voices be heard by streaming the songs in the playlist, and the total streaming numbers will dictate the winners in each of the categories.

This year Loudwire’s staff opened up the band/artist nomination process by inviting hard rock an heavy metal’s top managers, publicists, DJs, agents, A&R reps, festival promoters and the artists themselves and the nominees are a reflection of the collective input. On top of the categories listed below, there will be two special honors given out at the Loudwire Music Awards. Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi will receive the Courage Award, which recognizes his unparalleled musical output as well as his bravery during his cancer battle. In future years, the award will be known as the Iommi. Meanwhile, Judas Priest's Rob Halford will receive a lifetime achievement honor known as the Lemmy, named in honor of the late Motorhead legend Lemmy Kilmister.

In addition to the awards given out on Oct. 24, there will be plenty of amazing performances. Ice-T and Body Count, Halestorm, Starset and Power Trip were the first four announced performers, along with Rob Halford. Meanwhile, Anthrax and Nothing More have just been added to the bill. And there will be more additions coming. The inaugural Loudwire Music Awards will be hosted by Fozzy frontman and WWE superstar Chris Jericho. Tickets for the Loudwire Music Awards are currently on sale at this location, and stay up to date on all things related to the Loudwire Music Awards at our special website for the event.
