Vote for the Hard Rock Artist of the Year – 2017 Loudwire Music Awards
The Loudwire Music Awards are coming, and this year there's a ceremony and concert to honor the best in music over the past year. That includes the hard rock scene where music has been thriving, and your votes will help determine the winner in categories such as this one -- the 2017 Hard Rock Artist of the Year, presented by Frontiers Music SRL.
In This Moment continue their ascent in the rock scene with their sixth album Ritual. Featuring the stellar lead single "Oh, Lord," a wicked cover of Phil Collins' "In the Air Tonight" and a buzzworthy pairing with Rob Halford on "Black Wedding," the disc has garnered raves. Meanwhile, In This Moment have been in heavy tour mode bringing their always eye-catching live show to fans across the country.
Korn remain one of hard rock's top acts, with many proclaiming The Serenity of Suffering to be a return to their early career form. Since late last year, the band has been commanding the airwaves with "Rotting in Vain," "A Different World," "Take Me" and "Black Is the Soul," while putting on one of rock's top touring bills with co-headliners Stone Sour.
Papa Roach have one of the deepest quality albums of their career on their hands with Crooked Teeth. Already generating the chart-topper "Help" along with the sharp social commentary of "American Dreams," and bringing back some of Jacoby Shaddix's rap delivery, it's definitely been an uptick in the career for these rock vets.
The Pretty Reckless have proved themselves to be a force in rock, only gaining momentum after breaking through a few years ago. Their latest disc, Who You Selling For, has kept them all over radio with "Take Me Down," "Oh My God" and "Back to the River" commanding the airwaves. Add in a relentless tour schedule and The Pretty Reckless are pretty much dominating over the past year.
Starset have emerged as one of rock's bright new bands with the excellent Vessels album generating one of the year's most played songs at radio - "Monster." The group's unique "demonstrations" on tour have also made them a "must-see" live act, masterfully translating the conceptual artistry of their musical works.
And let's not forget about Stone Sour, who continue to evolve and have become one of rock's great acts. Able to go heavy ("Fabuless") or more radio-friendly ("Song #3"), Stone Sour have given us one of the year's top rock albums (Hydrograd) and continually delivered high energy hits-filled shows during their own dates and on one of the year's top concert bills with Korn.
